- Season runs from November to Mid-December (winter break). There are no tryouts or cuts. A sports physical is required to participate.
- Wrestlers will learn the basic moves and strategies of folk style wrestling in a competitive team and individual setting. Practices will stress developing conditioning, techniques, to be successful on the mat. Competitions consist of team dual meets and individual tournaments. All wrestling participants will have opportunities to compete. There are 22 weight classes and wrestlers are only allowed to wrestle athletes of their same weight class. Varsity wrestlers in a weight class are determined by a wrestle-off (match in practice).
- WEIGHT CLASSES: 70,75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 150, 160, 170, 180, 215, 275 After Thanksgiving there is a 2lb. growth allowance. Example 80 lb. class becomes 82 lb. class after Thanksgiving.
- Practices are Monday – Friday from 3 to 5 pm. Attendance at practice is expected in order to compete at meets. Team meets are on weekdays and start at 5 pm. There are 2 individual tournaments on Saturdays.
